Soul Skills

"Soul Skills" are active qualities that we naturally have but that need to be developed. The term "soul" points to this whole field where mental, emotional and spiritual skills merge and strengthen each other.

Soul Skills that I particularly work with are:

Compassion"If you want to be happy, practice compassion. If you want to make others happy, practice compassion." (Dalai Lama) Cognitive understanding is a mental capacity. Empathy is an emotional capacity. If this leads to wanting to help the other we call it compassion. Compassion with others ist based on an attitude of loving kindness towards oneself - self-compassion.

Resilience – The ability to go through difficult experiences, crisis and stress and to bounce back to a healthy state of being while remaining open, competent and empathic. Resilience is influenced by many factors, some of which are less controlable than others that can be learned like aceptance, self-responsibility, emotional regulation and connectedness.

Intuition – The ability to perceive subtle inner signals (often in form of images) and to discern them from habitual thoughts and expectations. Intuition is a invaluable ressource to navigate through the complexity of impressions and informations of our daily lives. It is closely related to inspiration.

Power of inner Vision – "An image says more than a thousand words". Visions, inner images and metaphors can be powerful anchors for aligning to a goal, an attitude oder to specific values - be it individual, for a group or for an organisation. Spontanous inner images can give valuable feedback about our inner state and about our developmental potential. Also see Imagery.
